Next Meeting

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Tuesday 13th January 2025 at 7.00pm

The meetings will take place at the Weasenham Community Building and members of the public are very welcome to attend.

Local Government Reorganisation - The Government has now started its Consultation on the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) proposals for Norfolk.

PARISH PARTNERSHIP SCHEME

Each year local councils are invited to submit bids for highway improvement schemes. Successful bids receive 50% of the cost from Norfolk County Council. You may recall that the scheme was used this year to part fund the car park refurbishment at the Recreation Field.

We would like to hear from you if you have any thoughts on projects that the village would benefit from in the coming financial year.

To find out more about the scheme, you can visit NCC’s website:

Parish Partnership Scheme - Norfolk County Council

Please send your suggestions to the Clerk (parishcouncil@weasenham.org), or speak with any of the Councillors, by Monday 17 November. If a suggestion is not achievable for 2026/27, it could be considered for 2027/28, or beyond.

Proposed New Solar Farm

The PC has received information about a proposed new solar farm development being planned for land east of Common End, Weasenham All Saints.

The proposal is currently in the early stages of development and the company, ADAS Planning, are keen to involve key stakeholders through Public Consultation. This consultation will come to an end at 23:59 on 2nd October 2025, following which, feedback will be collated and reviewed, before finalising the scheme in preparation for the Full Planning Application. A document containing more information is attached to this post. You can also visit the dedicated website at Weasenham Solar Consultation – Public Consultation Site for a Solar PV Farm in Weasenham All Saints. A determination of the Planning Application by Breckland District Council is expected in Spring 2026.

Further information on the scheme will be available during an in-person event, which is to be held at Tittleshall Village Hall* on 23rd September, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. This will be a ‘drop-in’ event (during the 4 hour window) where you can ask questions and seek further information.

In order to best represent the village during the consultation process, it would be of benefit to understand the public’s view on the proposal. Furthermore, the PC will be asked to comment on the Full Planning Application at some point so, again, knowing the public feeling on the issue would be useful. If you would like to share your view with the PC, please forward your comments to the PC Clerk, Gail Robinson, via email at parishcouncil@weasenham.org.

* The PC made enquiries as to why the in-person event is being held at Tittleshall and not Weasenham. The explanation was that “venues we contacted either didn’t return our calls or are showing online as unavailable”. The PC was not contacted.
